The Rural and Renewable Energy Agency (RREA), in partnership with Energicity, is making steady progress toward delivering reliable electricity to Bopolu City, Gbarpolu County.
Work is already underway on the installation of a 760 kWp solar PV mini-grid, supported by a 2,400 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery storage system.
This transformative project will provide clean, stable electricity to over 2,000 homes, businesses, and public facilities. A technical team from Energicity is currently on the ground preparing the site, while essential connection materials are being mobilized.
In addition, Bopolu has been selected to benefit from the installation of over 100 high-capacity solar powered streetlights before the end of 2026 bringing improved safety, visibility, and nighttime activity to the city.
