Mr. Othello Fewe Sherman is a distinguished banking and finance specialist with over two decades of leadership experience spanning credit administration, treasury management, business development, and strategic institutional growth. As Business Development Manager of the Liberian Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI), he has been instrumental in shaping the Bank’s strategic partnerships, driving product innovation, and expanding access to finance across key sectors of Liberia’s economy. 

Mr. Sherman’s tenure at LBDI has included senior roles as Head of Credit and Head of Treasury, where he demonstrated exceptional capability in portfolio restructuring, liquidity management, and the development of sustainable financing instruments. His leadership has supported major initiatives in mortgage finance, MSME lending, infrastructure and project financing. 

He holds a Master of Science (International Banking & Finance) from the Strathclyde Business School – University of Strathclyde and two Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Accounting, respectively from the University of Liberia complemented by extensive post graduate and professional postgraduate diplomas in Project/Credit Appraisal & Risk Management, Agribusiness, SME and Industrial Development, Trade and Development finance. A visionary leader and Graduate School lecturer, Mr. Sherman continues to advance LBDI’s mission of fostering inclusive growth and strengthening Liberia’s financial architecture. He is the Credit/Project Specialist/Lecturer at the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI), the training arm of the African Development Bank (AfDB), nurturing development finance institutions on the African Continent.
