| Armah Zolu Jallah is a veteran Liberian statesman, economist, and legal professional with a distinguished record of public service and leadership in national governance. He holds academic qualifications in economics, law, and international law, including a Bachelor of Science in Economics from African Methodist Episcopal Zion University, a Bachelor of Laws from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia, and a Master of Science in International Law and Economics. In recognition of his contributions to governance and public service, he was also awarded an honorary Doctor of Philosophy (PhD Honoris Causa) by London University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Senator Jallah made history as the only individual in Liberia to be elected to the Senate by two different constituencies—first representing Lofa County and later Gbarpolu County. From 2015 to 2018, he served as President Pro Tempore of the Liberian Senate, where he provided strategic leadership aimed at strengthening legislative independence, promoting constitutional reform, and enhancing national governance. During his tenure, he supported the Constitutional Review Committee process and advocated for security sector reforms, including the professionalization of the National Bureau of Investigation.
As Senator for Gbarpolu County from 2011 to 2021, he chaired the Senate Statutory Committee on Internal Affairs and contributed to the development of key national policies, including early legislative discussions that helped shape the Land Rights Act. Earlier in his career, he represented Lofa County in the Senate from 1998 to 2003 and authored the 2001 legislation that established Gbarpolu County as a separate administrative entity.
Beyond public service, Senator Jallah is an entrepreneur and investor committed to rural development. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jallah Agricultural Enterprises, which manages an 800-acre palm plantation in Gbarpolu County and provides employment opportunities for local communities. His private sector initiatives also include hospitality and energy distribution investments in Bopolu City aimed at stimulating economic growth.
Throughout his career, Senator Jallah has been recognized for his leadership and humanitarian contributions, including being named Senator of the Year (2012) by X-Ray Newspaper and receiving the Humanitarian Award from the Samuel Kanyon Doe Community Youth Association. His leadership philosophy emphasizes that government should create a stable legal and regulatory environment while empowering the private sector to drive national prosperity. |
